Game 2 of Miami-North Carolina Series Suspended
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Saturday’s game between Miami and No. 13 North Carolina was halted due to inclement weather. The contest is set to resume at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Hurricanes and Tar Heels were tied at seven with a runner on third and one out in the top of the eighth when the umpires cleared the field and called for the tarp at 9:48 p.m.
North Carolina held a 7-6 advantage after six innings, but Miami freshman Blake Cyr leveled the score with a sacrifice fly in the seventh.
The Hurricanes initially jumped ahead, 6-0, highlighted by a pair of home runs from Cyr and junior catcher Carlos Perez.
The Tar Heels pushed across a tally in the third before adding two more in the fourth and four in the sixth.
