Lavassas Races for Greece at SPAR European Cross Country Championships

FINGAL-DUBLIN, Ireland – University of Miami redshirt sophomore Daphnee Lavassas represented Greece at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships 2021 on Sunday morning.

Lavassas was one of three athletes that competed for Greece in the U23 women’s 6000m final.

She clocked in a time of 22:34 to finish in 47th-place, the first Greek athlete to cross the finish line.

Lavassas enters the indoor track season, which starts Jan. 14, following a stellar cross country season for the Hurricanes. She posted the second-fastest program 6K time at the NCAA South Regionals with a time of 21:05.98 to place 45th. The Miami, Fla. native, notched the seventh-best 5K time in the school record book, 18:00.5, at the XC23 Invitational.
