Football Moves Up to No. 8 in Coaches' Poll
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Following a 48-0 thrashing of Duke on the road on Dec. 5, the Miami Hurricanes football team held down its spot in one major college football and moved up one spot in another Sunday.
The Hurricanes, who were ranked No. 9 in the Amway Coaches’ Poll the last four weeks, moved up one spot to No. 8 in the latest coaches’ poll released Sunday. Miami maintained its No. 9 ranking in the Associated Press top 25.
The Hurricanes are in the top 15 of both major polls for the 12th straight week and the top 10 of both major polls for third straight week; Miami’s highest ranking of the year was No. 7, which was attained in both Oct. 4 polls.
The Hurricanes (8-1, 7-1 ACC) next host No. 20/20 North Carolina (7-3, 6-3 ACC) in a matchup at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., on Dec. 12. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on ABC.
