Week 3 ProCanes Report: Graham Scores A Pair

by Camron Ghorbi

The weekly ProCanes Report will weed through all the NFL highlights and news to bring you the information you care about the most… what the University of Miami Hurricanes did during the week prior. Braxton Berrios hasn’t stopped working since he was drafted in 2018, and that work paid off Sunday when he scored the first touchdown of his career in a home game with the San Francisco 49ers. Read on for more from across the league.

Top Performers:

Jimmy Graham (Chicago Bears) – six catches, 60 yards, two touchdowns

After two productive seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Jimmy Graham joined the Chicago Bears this past offseason and is off to a strong start through three weeks. His best performance in the season’s early going came Sunday, when he scored two touchdowns and finished with 60 receiving yards on six receptions in a 30-26 win over Atlanta. Now in his 11th year in the NFL, Graham is closing in on 8,000 career receiving yards and has 77 career touchdowns.

Braxton Berrios (New York Jets) –
four catches, 64 yards, one touchdown

Though his team came up on the wrong end of Sunday’s matchup with Indianapolis, New York Jets’ wide receiver Braxton Berrios delivered another strong performance for Gang Green. No player in the game had more receiving yards than Berrios, who posted 64 yards and had a touchdown for the second straight week. Berrios has already surpassed his totals for yards and catches from 2019, and is cementing himself as a go-to player for the Jets offense.

Rayshawn Jenkins (Los Angeles Chargers) –
nine tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss one sack

The top-graded defensive player by PFF in the Chargers’ 21-16 loss to Carolina, Rayshawn Jenkins delivered another standout game for the Bolts. Jenkins, who has been among the team’s op contributors all season long, finished with nine total tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss and his first sack of the season, to pace the Chargers. He finished with a PFF grade of 81.7.

A Day to Remember: Offensive lineman Kc McDermott was activated for a game for the first time in his career in Jacksonville’s loss to the Dolphins on Thursday night. McDermott, who was signed to the 53-man roster from the Jaguars’ practice squad earlier in the week, was active in the defeat.

Late Game Contributions: Seeing the first significant action of his career in the fourth quarter on Sunday, Green Bay Packers’ outside linebacker Jonathan Garvin finished with the first tackle of his career in a 37-30 win over New Orleans. Garvin has played in all three games so far for Green Bay.

Other Notables:

  • Tyree St. Louis (Los Angeles Chargers) has started two of the first three games of his NFL career after making the Chargers’ 53-man roster out of fall camp. St. Louis started at right guard in Sunday’s narrow loss to the Carolina Panthers.
  • Corn Elder (Carolina Panthers) has struggled with injuries for much of his career, but he had another solid game on Sunday in Carolina’s win over Los Angeles. The fourth-year cornerback had four tackles in the win, including two solo.
  • Greg Olsen (Seattle Seahawks) played an important role in the Seahawks’ wild 38-31 win over Dallas on Sunday. The veteran tight end hauled in five receptions for 61 yards, and surpassed 8,500 career receiving yards in the win.
