Hurricanes Ranked No. 8 in Both Major Polls

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Following a dominant 52-10 victory in their annual rivalry matchup with Florida State, the Miami Hurricanes ascended in both major college football polls released Sunday.

The Hurricanes, who totaled 517 yards of offense and forced three turnovers in one of the most lopsided contests in the rivalry’s history, climbed to No. 8 in both the Associated Press top 25 and the Amway Coaches Poll.

The Hurricanes’ rankings in the two polls are their highest since a No. 8 ranking in both preseason polls entering 2018. Miami was ranked No. 12 by the AP and No. 14 in the coaches poll last week.

The Hurricanes (3-0, 2-0 ACC) have an open date on Oct. 3 before a road test at No. 1/1 Clemson (2-0, 1-0 ACC) on Oct. 10.
