Canes Open Fall Practice in Klotz Center

On Tuesday, the Hurricanes finally came together for the first time as a team in over 180 days. Miami kicked off fall practice working in small groups with head coach Gino DiMare and the UM coaching staff.

In addition to coming together at Mark Light Field for the first time since the 2020 season was halted on March 12, the Hurricanes got their first opportunity to use the brand-new Jimmy and Kim Klotz Player Development Center for the first time.

An approximately 6,800-square foot facility that sits down Mark Light Field’s right field line, the Jimmy and Kim Klotz Player Development Center features batting cages, three pitcher’s mounds and a multi-purpose area, along with the latest state-of-the-art technology like high-speed cameras and Rapsodo and Blast Motion that will help UM’s coaches evaluate and develop players to an even higher level.

“We’ve got a lot of things inside here that are really going to help our players. For us, it’s a game changer."
