Saturday’s Game Halted with Miami Leading in the Seventh, 7-2
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Saturday’s game between the Miami Hurricanes and Rutgers Scarlet Knights was halted due to inclement weather. The contest will resume on Sunday beginning at noon from Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.
The Hurricanes were leading, 7-2, with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning before umpires cleared the field and called for the tarp.
Miami and Rutgers will return to action Sunday at noon to complete Game 2 of the three-game series, with gates at Alex Rodriguez Park opening at 11 a.m. Game 3 will be played after the conclusion of Game 2 with sophomore right-hander Slade Cecconi scheduled to take the mound for the Canes opposite Rutgers senior left-hander Tevin Murray.
