Soccer Set to Battle Syracuse

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami soccer team is set to host Syracuse Saturday at 7 p.m. at Cobb Stadium.
 
The match will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra and can be found HERE, while live stats for the action are available HERE.
 
As is the case with all home matches, entry to Saturday’s contest is free to all fans. UM special edition yoga mats will be handed out to the first 200 fans and will be available at the marketing table, which will also have team posters. Fans who arrive between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. will receive the opportunity to learn some yoga techniques from an instructor at midfield.
 
The matchup will mark the 11th time the Canes have faced Syracuse, with the Orange leading the overall series, 6-3-1. When the teams last met Oct. 11, 2017, Syracuse earned a 1-0 home victory.
 
The Canes enter this season’s affair with a 3-6-2 overall record and a 0-3-0 mark in the ACC, reaching extra time four times this year. First-year head coach Sarah Barnes’ side has outscored its opponents by an 8-3 margin in the first half and have outshot them, 72-34.
 
Overall, 11 different Hurricanes have registered at least one point this season, with freshman forward Gudrun Haralz leading the team with eight points (three goals and two assists). In the last five contests, senior midfielder Jamie Brunworth has notched two goals and an assist to lead the charge for the Canes’ attack.
 
Syracuse is 3-8-0 (0-3-0 ACC) on the season, most recently falling to Louisville, 1-0. Kate Hostage leads the Orange with four goals on the season and eight points, while recording a pair of game-winning goals against Connecticut (Aug. 20) and St. John’s (Aug. 23). In 2017, Syracuse finished 7-8-3 (2-6-2 ACC).
 
Following Saturday’s contest, Miami will hit the road for a pair of matches at Pittsburgh and Louisville. The Hurricanes will open the road-trip Thursday at 7 p.m. against the Panthers.

The only animals permitted to enter the games are service animals – a dog trained to do work or perform a specific task for a person with a disability, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The University of Miami – Coral Gables Campus has introduced an updated parking policy for the 2018-19 school year. Enforcement is now extended to seven days a week, 8 a.m. to just 11 p.m. PayByPhone and additional pay stations are available across all campus parking lots and garages to facilitate visitor parking.
