Miami No. 7 in Latest College Football Playoff Rankings
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami Hurricanes checked in at No. 7 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday night, marking the fourth straight week Miami was ranked inside the CFP top 10.
Ranked No. 2 last week, the Hurricanes (10-1) – who fell to Pittsburgh, 24-14, last time out on Nov. 24 – were behind No. 1 Clemson (11-1), No. 2 Auburn (10-2), No. 3 Oklahoma (11-1), No. 4 Wisconsin (12-0), No. 5 Alabama (11-1) and No. 6 Georgia (11-1).
Miami made its “top four” debut in the Nov. 14 rankings when it was No. 3. After posting a 44-28 win over Virginia on Nov. 18, the Hurricanes moved up one spot to No. 2 in the Nov. 21 rankings.
Miami checked in at No. 10 in the first CFP rankings of the season released on Oct. 31.
The Coastal Division champion Hurricanes, under the direction of ACC Coach of the Year Mark Richt, will be making their first trip to the ACC Championship Game on Sat., Dec. 2 for a matchup with Atlantic Division champion Clemson (11-1, 7-1 ACC).
Kickoff for the contest is set for 8 p.m., on ABC, 560 WQAM and 990AM ESPN Deportes from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
