Miami Ranked No. 7 in AP, Coaches Polls

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – After suffering its first loss of the season last time out against Pittsburgh on Nov. 24, the Miami Hurricanes slipped to No. 7 in both the Associated Press poll and Amway Coaches Poll released Sunday.
 
Miami (10-1, 7-1 ACC) had been ranked No. 2 in back-to-back weeks (Nov. 12 and Nov. 19), matching its highest poll position since the Oct. 26, 2003 polls (also No. 2 / No. 2).
 
The Hurricanes, who are ranked in the top 10 of both polls for the seventh straight week, entered the season ranked in both preseason polls for the first time since 2010.
 
In their two seasons under the direction of head coach Mark Richt, the Hurricanes have been ranked in the top 10 of both polls in both seasons; in Week 6 of 2016, Miami was ranked No. 10 in both the Associated Press poll and Amway Coaches Poll.
 
Miami will be making its first trip to the ACC Championship Game on Sat., Dec. 2 for a matchup with Atlantic Division champion Clemson (11-1, 7-1 ACC). Kickoff for the contest is set for 8 p.m., on ABC from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
