Isidora Selected in Fifth Round of 2017 NFL Draft
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami Hurricanes offensive lineman Danny Isidora was selected with the 180th overall pick by the Minnesota Vikings Saturday afternoon in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
With his selection, Isidora becomes the first Hurricane offensive lineman drafted since 2015. The Weston, Fla., native is the 33rd Miami offensive lineman to be taken in the NFL Draft’s modern era.
Since 2000, Miami has had 17 offensive lineman chosen in the NFL Draft.
Isidora, one of four Hurricane captains, was one of the most consistent Miami offensive lineman throughout the 2016 campaign. As a senior this past season, he helped pave the way for the Hurricanes to rush for 151.8 yards per game.
Throughout his four-year career, Isidora also proved to be one of the Hurricanes most durable offensive lineman, as he made 39 straight starts. His 39 consecutive starts rank sixth in school history.
Following his senior season, Isidora earned All-ACC honors from both the Coaches (second team) and ACSMA (third team). In 2015, he was selected All-ACC honorable mention (coaches).
