@CanesWTennis Set to Host No. 28 Wake Forest
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team will play its second top-30 conference opponent in a span of three days Sunday against No. 28 Wake Forest.
No. 44 Miami will welcome the Demon Deacons for an 11 a.m., contest at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
The Hurricanes have an 18-1 all-time record against Wake Forest and have won each of the last 14 meetings. In the most recent affair, Miami recorded a 5-2 road victory over then-No. 20 Wake Forest on April 8, 2016.
Miami (3-4, 2-0 ACC) is led by a trio of ranked singles players, with junior Sinead Lohan checking in at seventh in the country to pace the group. She is followed by freshman Estela Perez-Somarriba at No. 76 and redshirt senior Maci Epstein at No. 97.
Lohan and freshman Dominika Paterova check in at No. 48 on the ITA’s national doubles rankings list.
Wake Forest is 11-2 (2-0 ACC) on the season and has won each of its past eight matches after falling in two of the first five.
Kimmy Guerin is ranked No. 67 in singles and Emma Davis places No. 86 on the list. The Demon Deacons do not have any ranked doubles pairs.
