Baseball to Open Fall Practice Thursday at The Light

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami baseball team will open fall practice at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field on Thursday, Oct. 13.

Practices will be held Monday through Saturday throughout the fall, and are scheduled to conclude on Friday, Nov. 18 with the team’s annual Scout Day.

Practices Monday through Friday will begin at 2:30 p.m. (team stretch at 2 p.m.), while Saturday practices are slated to begin at 10 a.m. (9:30 a.m. stretch).

The team will not practice on Sundays in the fall. All practices are open to the public.

Miami returns a number of key contributors from its 2016 College World Series team, including All-America lefthander Michael Mediavilla, All-ACC infielder Johnny Ruiz, All-ACC outfielder Carl Chester, Freshman All-America reliever Frankie Bartow. The Hurricanes’ recruiting class was ranked No. 13 nationwide by Baseball America and No. 14 by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
