CORAL GABLES, Fla. Riding the first three-match ACC winning streak in program history, the University of Miami soccer team will play the first of three consecutive road matches Thursday night at No. 15 North Carolina.

The Hurricanes and Tar Heels are set to square off at 7 p.m., at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill, N.C.

This will be the Hurricanes’ first contest away from home since Sept. 18 when they fell, 1-0, at third-ranked Florida State. Miami has since won three games in a row at Cobb Stadium, earning a 2-1 victory over second-ranked Virginia, a 2-0 triumph against Syracuse and a 2-1 win versus Wake Forest.

The Hurricanes are 8-4-0 (3-1-0 ACC) on the season and are off to their best four-match start in ACC play in program history. Miami ranks third in the conference and tied for seventh nationally in assists (31). In addition, the Hurricanes are tied for third in the ACC in goals allowed (seven), tied for fourth in shutouts (six), fifth in points (83) and tied for fifth in goals (26).

Freshman forward Kristina Fisher is tied for second in the ACC in points (20) and assists (six), plus ranks fourth in goals (seven). Senior forward Gracie Lachowecki is third in the conference in goals (eight) and tied for fourth in points (17). Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce ranks fourth in goals against average (0.61) and save percentage (.833).

North Carolina heads into Thursday night’s match with a 6-2-3 (1-1-2) record this season. In 2014-15, the 22-time national champion Tar Heels went 15-5-1 (7-3-0) and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament, snapping a streak of 33 consecutive Sweet 16 berths.
