@CanesWTennis Travels to No. 29 Clemson

CORAL GABLES, Fla. After playing six of its last seven matches at home, the University of Miami women’s tennis team will play the first of three-consecutive road matches Saturday at No. 29 Clemson.

Seventh-ranked Miami (12-4, 7-2 ACC) is set to square off against the Tigers at 12 p.m. in South Carolina.

The Hurricanes are seeking their ninth-straight win of the season after posting a perfect 8-0 mark in March. Miami, which is 27-4 all-time against Clemson, including 10-1 on the road, also enters with a 15-match winning streak over the Tigers.

Clemson is 8-6 in 2016, including 6-3 in ACC play. The Tigers feature three ranked singles players, including No. 20 Joana Eidukonyte, who opened the spring as the top-ranked player in the nation.

Following Eidukonyte are Ayan Broomfield at No. 52 nationally and Theresa Pinotek at No. 104 in the country.

The Tigers also have one nationally-ranked doubles pair, as Eidukonyte and Pinotek team together to form the No. 55 duo in the Oracle/ITA rankings.

As has been the case for all of 2016, Miami has a quartet of ranked singles players. Senior Stephanie Wagner and sophomore Sinead Lohan are both in the top 10, checking in at fifth and sixth, respectively.

Yolimar Ogando has yet to play this spring due to injury, but is ranked No. 34, while fellow sophomore Wendy Zhang follows her at No. 109.

In doubles, Wagner and Zhang are ranked ninth in the nation, and Wagner is also ranked No. 66 with senior Clementina Riobueno.
