CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami football team has a pipeline to the pro’s that has been matched by few programs in all of college football.
Listed below are some of the eye-popping numbers that Miami boasts leading up to the 2015 NFL Draft.
86 – The Hurricanes have had 86 draft picks since the start of the 2000 season – a figure that ranks third among all NCAA teams.
59 – Miami has had 59 players selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
56 – Miami has had 56 players taken in the first round of the NFL Draft since 1967 – second only to the University of Southern California.
40 – For 40-consecutive years, the Hurricanes have had at least one player selected in the NFL Draft.
28 – The 28 players Miami had drafted over a three-year period is the most amount of players selected over a three-year span (2002-04).
26 – Since 2000, Miami has had an NCAA-best 26 players selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
23 – The Hurricanes have had five-or-more players selected in the NFL Draft 23 times since 1980.
14 – For 14-consecutive seasons (1995-2008), the University of Miami had at least one player selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
11 – Miami has had 11 players selected in the NFL Draft on three separate occasions (1988, 1991 and 2002).
6 – The Hurricanes featured an NFL-record six first-round Draft picks in 2004.
4 – Miami ranks fourth all-time in first round picks (First among ACC schools).
1 – Vinny Testaverde and Russell Maryland are the Hurricanes’ two No. 1 overall NFL Draft picks in school history.
