Ereck Flowers to Enter the 2015 NFL Draft
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Junior offensive tackle Ereck Flowers announced today that he has elected to forego his senior season at the University of Miami and enter the 2015 NFL Draft.
Flowers saw action in 12 games this past season and made 11 starts as he established himself as one of the team’s toughest and most reliable offensive linemen this past year.
“I could not be happier for Ereck and his family as he prepares to live out his life-long dream of playing in the National Football League,” said head coach Al Golden. “Ereck has made a lot of sacrifices to put himself in this position, he loves football and the competition. I am really proud of him for the maturity and professionalism he displayed throughout this entire process – he is truly making an educated decision and one that is best for he and his family. We wish him nothing but great health, longevity and success!”
The 6-6, 330-pound, Miami native played a key role for the Hurricanes’ in 2014 as he paved the way for Miami’s offensive unit as it averaged 430.3 yards per game and just under 30 point per game.
In addition, Flowers blocked for Miami running back and former high school teammate Duke Johnson as he became the school’s all-time leading rusher.
Following the year, Flowers was showered with postseason recognition as he was named All-ACC by the league’s coaches, Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ASCMA) and Phil Steele.
