Top Ranked OL Jones Inks NLI with Canes

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami football team announced today that offensive lineman Jahair Jones has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Hurricanes’ 2015 signing class.

Jones, who is listed at 6 foot, 5 inches and 315 pounds, hails from Edgewater, Md.  He will begin the 2015 campaign as a true sophomore and plans to enroll in January.

Jones, who is listed as a three-star recruit according to ESPN.com and 247Sports.com, choose Miami over Ohio State and Virginia Tech.

This past season, he starred at offensive tackle for Brooklyn (N.Y.) ASA College, leading the Avengers to a 6-2 record and a 4-1 mark in conference play. As a freshman, Jones helped pave the way up front, which allowed ASA College to average 338.1 yards per game.

Jones played for head coach Dennis Orlando at ASA College.

Jones will join fellow junior college transfer Jerome Washington, who inked an NLI to play for the Canes on Dec. 17.
