Radziewski Named NCBWA Preseason All-America
FORT WORTH, Texas – Miami Hurricanes junior lefthander Bryan Radziewski was among those recognized with preseason All-America recognition from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), the organization announced Wednesday.
Radziewski earned one of five starting pitcher nods on the preseason All-America second team from the NCBWA.
A 2013 All-ACC first-team selection, Radziewski helped anchor the Miami pitching staff with a dominant redshirt sophomore season. The Miami, Fla., native finished the year with a team-high nine wins and a miniscule 1.78 ERA, striking out a career-high 109 batters in 91.0 innings.
He ranked among the best in the ACC in a number of pitching categories, including ERA (1.78, third), opposing batting average (.175, first), wins (nine, ninth), strikeouts (109, fourth), shutouts (two, second) and complete games (two, third).
His 16-strikeout, complete-game shutout of Virginia Tech, a performance which earned him ACC Pitcher of the Week honors, was among the most dominant performances by any starting pitcher all season.
For his outstanding campaign, the southpaw was recognized with 2013 All-America honors from Louisville Slugger (second team), Rawlings (third team) and CollegeBaseballInsider.com (honorable mention), as well as a spot on the Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list and the ABCA 2013 All-Atlantic Region first team.
