Coley Named ACC Co-Rookie of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Miami Hurricanes freshman wide receiver Stacy Coley has been named the ACC Co-Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday. Coley shares the honor with freshman Virginia Tech CB Brandon Facyson.

Coley is the fourth Hurricane to earn ACC Player of the Week honors in 2013. Senior Brandon Linder was named Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week on Sept. 3, junior Denzel Perryman was named Linebacker of the Week and junior Anthony Chickillo was named Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week on Sept. 9.

Coley hauled in career highs for receptions (4), receiving yards (96) and receiving touchdowns (2) in Miami’s 49-21 road win at USF. Coley led the Hurricanes with 96 receiving yards, hauling in touchdowns of 34 and 11 yards. He ranks fourth on the team with 131 receiving yards and leads the team with three TD receptions. Saturday’s game was Coley’s second straight outing with multiple touchdowns, as he had one receiving touchdown and one kick return for a TD against Savannah State.
