Joe Z Featured on Havoline Football Saturday

Joe Zagacki, the “Voice of the Miami Hurricanes” for football and men’s basketball, was featured on Rayom Sports’ multi-Emmy Award-winning summer television series, “Havoline Football Saturdays“.

Raycom Sports’ multi-Emmy Award-winning summer television series, “Havoline Football Saturdays,” concludes its tenth season with Episode 6 this weekend. The series, with six one-hour episodes, is hosted by Tim Brando and syndicated in 75 markets throughout the country.

Born and raised in North Miami, Zagacki worked his way up from pregame reporter to sideline reporter to color analyst before assuming play-by-play-duties for the Hurricanes. But a different hurricane, Hurricane Andrew, almost cost him his career and life.

On August 27, 1992, while leading a donation drive to help the Homestead area affected by the storm, he boarded a small plane with two other people to deliver the supplies. The plane crashed into the roof of a house during takeoff. Go with Zagacki as he visits North Perry Airport and the Miramar neighborhood for the first time since the crash.
