#MindGames (Episode 3): "The Stiff Arm"
What’s it like to go inside the mind of a Miami Hurricane? For 60 days, players and coaches will provide insight into proper techniques, analyzing plays and much more as part of the new web series, “Mind Games”.
2012 ACC Rookie of the Year Duke Johnson describes the perfect stiff arm in our third episode of “Mind Games”. Johnson, who earned Freshman All-America and second-team All-America honors a year ago, enjoyed one of the greatest freshman seasons in Hurricanes history in 2012. The Miami product amassed 2,060 all-purpose yards and 13 TDs, while breaking Clinton Portis’ 13-year-old school freshman rushing record with 947 yards. His 892 kick return yards were a single-season record, while also tying the school single-season mark with two kick returns for touchdowns.
The ground-breaking series will provide fans a unique look as current Hurricanes such as Duke Johnson, Stephen Morris, Anthony Chickillo and Denzel Perryman break down such elements as proper tackling, red zone offense and defense and stiff-arm blocks. A new video will be debut each day at 5:55 p.m. – in honor of the program’s five national titles.
“Mind Games” will feature 60 unique episodes on HFBCA.com, a site dedicated to “coaches coaching coaches”. HFBCA is the No. 1 source for football coaches of all ages that are passionate about learning, sharing, teaching improving their football intelligence.
