#BuildingChampions Campaign Wins Bronze Telly
DALLAS – The University of Miami’s 2013 #BuildingChampions campaign developed for the Hurricane Club has been named a Bronze winner at the 34th Annual Telly Awards.
It is the second consecutive year that Miami Hurricanes Athletics has won a Telly Award. 3Penny Films’ “Raising Canes” series won two bronze awards at the 33rd Telly Awards – Internet/Online Programs, Segments or Promotional Pieces – Sports and Internet/Online Video – Documentary.
Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and web commercials, videos and films. The Telly Awards annually showcases the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. The Telly Awards is a widely known and highly respected national and international competition and received nearly 11,000 entries in 2013 from all 50 states.
“Building Champions is a comprehensive membership campaign that links Miami’s National Championship tradition to the effect our donors will have in bringing that legacy back to Miami,” said Jesse Marks, Associate AD for Development at UM. “With our national brand and Pursuant Sports’ specialty in creating the video production and synergy around the campaign, we were able to hit well over 1,000 new members to our program and generate significant new donation revenue directly benefitting UM student-athletes.”
The #BuildingChampions campaign, created by Marks and his staff, was designed to grow the Hurricane Club membership base and expand its national reach. Launched in October, the Hurricane Club has eclipsed its new-member goal three-fold since the campaign’s inception.
Marks approached Pursuant with the ultimate desire of improving every student-athlete’s experience. Pursuant Sports developed an online fundraising campaign utilizing the theme, “Building Champions” as featured in the award-winning video. Within the video, the line “building champions takes Champions” is uttered. This philosophy epitomizes what continues to inspire Pursuant and the stellar organizations with whom they partner, including the University of Miami Athletics.
“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” Telly Awards Executive Director Linda Day said. “Pursuant’s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”
Miami’s #BuildingChampions campaign was one of nine winners developed by Pursuant, a full-service comprehensive fundraising and communications consulting firm based in Dallas.
