Monday ProCanes Report: Hankerson Doubles Up
The Monday ProCanes report will weed through all the NFL highlights and news to bring you the information you care about the most… what the former University of Miami Hurricanes did during the week prior. In another big week for ProCanes wide receivers, Washington’s Leonard Hankerson scored two touchdowns, Cleveland rookie Travis Benjamin caught a 69-yard score, and Andre Johnson delivered an 11-catch, 151-yard performance for AFC South champions Houston.
Leonard Hankerson (Washington Redskins) – two catches, 56 yards, two touchdowns
The Redskins’ second-year wide receiver enjoyed a breakout game against Cleveland, recording the first multi-touchdown game of his career in a 38-21 Washington win. Hankerson hauled in his first touchdown of the game on a 54-yard bomb from rookie quarterback Kirk Cousins through triple coverage. His second score of the day, a two-yard catch on a bootleg in the third quarter, helped seal the victory. Hankerson and ProCanes veteran Santana Moss have combined for 73 catches, 1,046 yards and 10 touchdowns for the Washington offense this season.

Travis Benjamin (Cleveland Browns) – 69-yard touchdown reception
The reigning AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, recently recognized by teammates and opponents for his blazing speed, put on the jets in Cleveland’s matchup with Washington. The Belle Glade, Fla., native hauled in a 69-yard catch from quarterback Brandon Weeden for his second receiving touchdown of the season. Much like his impressive 96-yard punt return last week, Benjamin blew by the competition, this time Redskins’ safety Domonique Johnson, for a career-long catch.

Andre Johnson (Houston Texans) – 11 catches, 151 yards, one touchdown
Houston’s tenth-year wideout delivered another spectacular performance for the Texans, who clinched the AFC South with a 29-17 win over upstart Indianapolis. Johnson recorded his fifth 100-yard receiving game of the season with a 151-yard showing, which also included a three-yard touchdhown catch. The Miami, Fla., native now ranks third in the NFL with 1,360 receiving yards, marking his sixth career 1,000-yard season. With 11,016 career receiving yards, Johnson became one of only 28 receivers to ever surpass 11,000 yards.
