Monday ProCanes Report: Moss, Johnson Shine
The Monday ProCanes report will weed through all the NFL highlights and news to bring you the information you care about the most… what the former University of Miami Hurricanes did during the week prior. On an impressive Thanksgiving Day for ProCanes, Santana Moss and Andre Johnson guided their teams to momentous victories, while Vince Wilfork keyed a strong defensive effort for the New England Patriots in a win over the New York Jets.
Santana Moss (Washington Redskins) – four catches, 42 yards, one touchdown
The 12th-year wideout continued his resurgence with another strong performance against Dallas at Cowboys Stadium. Moss, who recorded another highlight reel touchdown just before halftime, served as one of quarterback Robert Griffin III’s most reliable targets in the fourth quarter. He caught two passes on the team’s final drive, helping the Redskins clinch a 38-31 victory over their division rival. Moss’ seven touchdowns on the season marks his highest total since 2005.

Andre Johnson (Houston Texans) – nine catches, 188 yards
He did it again. Four days after recording one of the most impressive performances of the season, the tenth-year wide receiver helped lead the Texans past the Detroit Lions in overtime with another dominant showing. Johnson, who registered the most prolific back-to-back total in NFL history with 461 yards in games against Seattle and Detroit, eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the sixth time in his career. He recorded nine catches for 188 yards, moving past Keyshawn Johnson for No. 31 all-time in receiving yards.

Vince Wilfork (New England Patriots) – three tackles
The ninth-year nose tackle continued one of the best seasons of his career with a tremendous performance against division rival New York. Wilfork, who was recognized as one of the first-ever Madden Thanksgiving players of the game, recorded three tackles and controlled the point of attack for the duration of his team’s 49-19 thrashing of the Jets. The Boynton Beach, Fla., native played a key role on a timely fumble in the second quarter, forcing right guard Brandon Moore to shift and effectively cause a collision with quarterback Mark Sanchez.

The eighth-year running back, who ranks ninth in the league with 914 rushing yards, recorded his first receiving touchdown of the season and 10th of his career in the win. Gore, whose 5.2 average yards per rush ranks seventh in the NFL, is now No. 35 in all-time rushing yards with 8.539. The Coral Gables, Fla., native is closing in on his sixth career 1,000-yard season.
