Reggie Wayne Named AFC Player of the Week

NEW YORK — After posting 13 catches for a career-high 212 yards in his team’s win over Green Bay, Indianapolis Colts’ wide receiver Reggie Wayne was recognized as AFC Offensive Player of the Week Thursday.

Wayne, who took home the first weekly honors of his career, was joined by Miami Dolphins’ defensive tackle Randy Starks (defense) and Pittsburgh Steelers’ kicker Shaun Suisham (special teams).

With 35 seconds remaining in fourth quarter in Sunday’s game against the Packers, Wayne hauled in a four-yard game-winning touchdown reception. The 12th-year veteran recorded his 40th career 100-yard receiving performance in the win, and surpassed the 200-yard mark for the second time in his career.

The Marrero, La., native extended his reception streak to 100 consecutive games with at least one catch, and surpassed Derrick Mason, Hines Ward and Charlie Joiner for No. 17 all-time in receiving yards (12,214).
