CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The 24th-rankedUniversity of Miami Hurricanesreturned to practice with a 75-minute practice today at GreentreePractice Field on the UM campus. Following two off days, theHurricanesreconvened their preparation for their matchup with North CarolinaStatein the Micron PC Bowl on December 29th at 7:30 p.m. at Pro PlayerStadium.

“Today was a re-introductioninto North Carolina State,” saidHead Coach Butch Davis. “We worked on indentifying their frontsandrecognizing some of their blitz packages. We’ll have pretty extensivepractices each of the next three days and then we’ll lighten upbeginning Sunday.”

Davis also commented onthe challenge facing the Hurricanedefense in stopping N.C. State’s high powered offense.

“We have a huge challenge,”said Davis. “Their averaging 442yards of total offense because they have very talented players. TorryHolt is an excellent player, but it’s not a one-man show. Theyhaveother very talented wide receivers, a very athletic quarterback andasolid running game.”

Following practice, theHurricanes traveled to the EmbassySuites, Ft. Lauderdale, where they will stay during Bowl week.Also,Bowl Week festivities began Wednesday evening with a Welcome Receptionat Las Olas Riverfront.
