Devon Hill Wraps Up Experience at U.S. Trials

EUGENE, Ore. – After advancing past the preliminary stage on Friday, Devon Hill from the University of Miami placed fifth in heat three of the semifinals of the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.57 to finish his debut at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Saturday. The meet is being held at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.

He ran a time of 13.67 on Friday.

Hill recently finished his UM career after earning the distinction of All-American, four-time ACC Hurdle Champion and multiple-time All-ACC performer during his four years for the Canes. He earned his fourth conference title in April when he ran a winning time of 13.35 in the 110m hurdles to set the ACC, Championship Meet, facility and UM school records. He competed in the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year earlier this month.

There are still two Hurricanes at the Trials hoping to qualify for the Olympics in London. Both Dominique Darden and T’Erea Brown will compete in the finals of the women’s 400m hurdles on Sunday at 7:02 p.m. (EST) with live coverage on NBC.

Director of Track and Field Amy Deem is also in Eugene, as she will serve as the head coach of the USA women’s track and field team in London.
