Campre Places Seventh in Decathlon at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Edgar Campre highlighted day two of the NCAA Championships for the University of Miami track and field team as the senior placed seventh in the decathlon Thursday at Hayward Field.

Campre earned first team All-America honors as he finished with a season-best 7,870 points. The senior opened the day with a 14.46 in the 110m hurdles before placing fourth in the discus with a throw of 44.71m.

Following ninth-place finishes in the pole vault at 4.91m and javelin with a throw of 54.72m, he ran a 4:55.75 in the 1500m.

Sanaa Hebron clocked a 56.52 in the women’s 400m hurdle semifinals to place 12th.

Deisiane Teixeira placed 23rd in the women’s javelin with a throw of 47.92m.

To close out the day, the women’s 4×400 relay of Serena Tate, Hebron, Gabriella Grissom and Nandy Kihuyu finished 21st at 3:32.01.
