Franks Places 12th in 400m Semifinals at NCAA Championships
EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Miami track and field team wrapped up day one of the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a pair of strong showings at Hayward Field on Wednesday.
George Franks finished 12th in the 400m semifinals, registering a time of 45.66 to earn second team All-America honors.
In the decathlon, Edgar Campre sits in seventh place with 4,128 points after the first five events. Campre placed second in the 100m and shot put and registered a seventh-place finish in the long jump.
Miami returns to action Thursday as Campre concludes the decathlon beginning at 1:45 p.m. while Deisiane Teixeira opens competition for the women’s team at 9:15 p.m.
