The duo of Anna Bartenstein and Brittany Dubins took down Katarina Gaugic and Ina Kauppila of Boston College in No.3 doubles, 8-3, but the rest of the doubles’ matches would be hard fought.
The Canes let the Eagles battle back after leading at No. 2, but Gabriela Mejia and Lina Lilekite were able to hold on for an 8-6 win over Erina Kikuchi and Jessica Wacnik. At No. 1, Liat Zimmerman and Melissa Bolivar fought back and forth the entire match but eventually came out on top 8-6 over the 18th ranked duo of Alex Kelleher and Olga Khmylev.
In singles play, UM started fast with freshman Lina Lilekite (No. 118) maintaining her undefeated status by taking down Kelleher 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 3 position.
