Nieto and Flores Win at UCF Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Senior Santiago Nieto and Sophomore Gabriel Flores led the University of Miami men’s tennis team on day two of the UCF Invitational in Orlando, Fla.
After dropping his first match of the weekend yesterday, Flores rebounded with a victory over Auburn’s Daniel Cochrane, 3-6, 7-6 and 7-6, today. Nieto earned the Canes’ other victory today over Rafael Rondino, 4-6, 6-2 and 7-6.
The Hurricanes were winless in the rest of their singles matches, as well as in both doubles matches.
Freshman Victor Mauz took Auburn’s Lucas Lopasso to a third set. He won the first set 7-5 before losing the next to 6-4 and 6-4.
Miami will wrap up the tournament against UCF at 1:30 p.m. at the UCF Tennis Complex.
