Bartenstein Set to Begin Play at All-American Championships
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – University of Miami senior Anna Bartenstein will begin her competition at the ITA/Riviera Women’s All-American Championships on Tuesday when she takes on Michigan’s Brooke Bolender in the first round of the tournament’s qualifying bracket.
Her match is slated to start at 1:45 p.m. ET on the upper courts at the Riviera Country Club, where the tournament is being held for the 24th time. After two days of prequalifying action, qualifying rounds will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the main draw of the event running from Thursday through Sunday.
Bartenstein, who is currently ranked 25th nationally in singles play, enters the tournament with a 6-1 record this fall. Going back to last season, the Graz, Austria native has now won 22 of her last 25 singles matches.
“Anna has been playing some great tennis and she’s worked hard to prepare herself for this type of tournament,” head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews said. “Bolender is a tough opponent and a great competitor. This is certainly a tough opening round match.”
