GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Miami senior Bianca Eichkorn has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the second straight week and third time overall this year, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Eichkorn – ranked 10th nationally by the ITA – remained unbeaten in ACC play at the Hurricanes’ No. 1 singles position with a dominant 6-2, 6-0 win over No. 6 North Carolina’s 14th-ranked Zoe De Bruycker on March 9 in Coral Gables.

She also beat TCU’s Olivia Smith, 6-2, 6-2, on Saturday, and is now 24-6 overall and 13-2 in dual match play, including a perfect 4-0 mark against ACC opponents.

The win over De Bruycker – who later in the week defeated Michigan’s fifth-ranked Denise Muresan – was Eichkorn’s ninth against a ranked opponent this year.

The Tengen, Germany native also went 1-1 in Miami’s No. 1 doubles position, picking up an 8-7 victory over TCU’s Federica Denti and Katariina Tuohimaa alongside teammate Anna Bartenstein. On the season, Eichkorn is 20-4 overall and 13-2 in dual match play teaming with Bartenstein at No. 1 doubles.

Eichkorn has now garnered ACC Player of the Week honors three of the nine weeks it has been handed out this year. She was previously recognized on March 8 and February 15.

The third-ranked Hurricanes (11-4) just wrapped up a stretch in which they played six matches in a span of 13 days, with five of the matches coming against Top 25 opponents. The `Canes picked up wins over No. 4 Michigan, No. 21 Georgia Tech, No. 11 Clemson and TCU, while their only losses were against No. 6 North Carolina and No. 9 Baylor.
