`Canes in El Paso: Recapping Wednesday

El Paso, Texas – Wednesday marked Miami’s final day of practice for the Hyundai Sun Bowl as the Hurricanes are wrapping up preparation for their match-up with Notre Dame at Sun Bowl Stadium on Friday.
Coordinators Talk
Coordinators from both Miami and Notre Dame met with the media Wednesday morning to discuss Friday’s game at Sun Bowl Stadium. Miami offensive coordinator Mark Whipple and defensive coordinator John Lovett spoke on a number of topics, including the team’s preparation and what they expect to see from the Irish on Friday.
‘Canes Hold Final Practice
The Hurricanes held their final bowl practice at Burges High School’s Mustang Stadium Wednesday morning, holding an abbreviated session in windy conditions.
Jacory Harris took all of the first team snaps as Steven Morris sat out with a left ankle injury. Interim head coach Jeff Stoutland has yet to name a starter for Friday’s game.
Bowl Before the Bowl
The entire team spent Wednesday night at the “Bowl Before the Bowl” event at the Oasis Lanes and Amusement Center in El Paso. The `Canes, who bowled alongside student-athletes from Notre Dame, spent the evening bowling against one another, in addition to getting into some arcade games at the facility.
What’s Next?
On Thursday, the `Canes will attend the Sun Bowl Team Luncheon at the Judson F. Williams Convention Center in downtown El Paso. Players and coaches from both teams will be highlighted at the luncheon, which will be emceed by the CBS Sports broadcast team. Starters from each team will be introduced and the 2010 Legends of the Sun Bowl will also be honored at the event. The Sun Bowl Fan Fiesta will be held shortly following the luncheon at the Williams Convention Center.
The `Canes will also finalize their preparation for Friday’s Sun Bowl with a brief walkthrough at Sun Bowl Stadium.
