Ten `Canes Earn Midseason Honors by Phil Steele

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Five University of Miami football student-athletes have been named to Phil Steele’s 2010 Midseason All-ACC First Team, as announced by the publication on Wednesday. In total, Miami has 10 players represented on either the first, second or third teams.
Three of the five first team honorees for Miami are from the defensive side of the ball, with linebacker Sean Spence, cornerback Brandon Harris and safety Ray-Ray Armstrong all making the list. Miami’s other two first team honorees are wide receiver Leonard Hankerson and Matt Bosher, who made the team as a punter.
Four Hurricanes made the publication’s second team – running back Damien Berry, offensive tackle Orlando Franklin, defensive end Allen Bailey and linebacker Colin McCarthy.
Miami’s lone representative on the third team was defensive end Olivier Vernon.
