HurricaneSports.com Unveils Gameday Companion

MIAMI GARDENS – HurricaneSports.com is proud to unveil the Gameday Companion, which will be a one-stop shop for live stats, tweets, chats and WQAM radio during the ‘Canes season opener against FAMU tonight.
Fans that are watching the game at home on ESPN3.com can fire up the Gameday Companion and have an interactive social media experience during the game. The companion is intended to supplement the TV coverage by ESPN3 by providing live stats, WQAM radio, tweets and a chance to chat with Miami insiders throughout the game.
“We will have a dedicated team online working to bring Canes fans another layer of access to the season opener,” said HurricaneSports Web Designer Tim Vothang. “Our goal is to create a single location for fans that want more information, whether it is stats, a social media experience or just the Hurricanes’ radio broadcast.”
The Gameday Companion will launch on HurricaneSports.com at 7 p.m. Eastern (30 minutes before kickoff), but web browsers can get a sneak peek at the interactive experience right now.

The game will be aired on the internet via ESPN3.com with the broadcast crew of Dave Weekley and Jeremy Bloom.
The game will not be broadcast on television. The 560 WQAM radio broadcast begins with Hurricanes Gameday at 3:30 p.m. Eastern. The team of Joe Zagacki, Don Bailey Jr., Josh Darrow, Curtis Stevenson and Will Manso will take UM fans from pregame through 60 minutes of hard-hitting action on the field. Aftewards, John Linder, Lamar Thomas and Darren Smith will lead the postgame show.
