Ignacio Taboada named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Freshman men’s tennis player Ignacio Taboada has been named the Muscle Milk Student Athlete of the Week for the period ending April 12. With a pair of singles wins over the weekend, Ignacio Taboada became the first Hurricane to register a 20-win freshman campaign since Josh Cohen in 2003-04. Taboada won a pair of ACC matches in straight sets to extend his winning streak to four-straight, improving to 20-11 overall and 5-3 in conference competition. Taboada helped the Hurricanes to a pair of dominating league wins to claim their program-high tying ninth ACC win and clinch the No. 2 seed in the upcoming ACC Championship. |
