Hurricanes to Conclude Spring Practice with BankUnited CanesFest

Coral Gables, Fla. – The University of Miami football team held its final spring practice at the Greentree Practice Fields Friday one day before BankUnited CanesFest. The Hurricanes practiced for two hours in front of football alumni. More than 250 former UM players are in attendance for alumni weekend.
BankUnited CanesFest will be held Saturday at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale (5201 NW 12th Avenue). CanesFest will feature UM’s annual spring game which is slated to start at 10:30 a.m. The game will be broadcast live on CSS. Players will take part in an autograph session from 9 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Gates will open at 8:30 a.m. Parking and admission are free.
UM’s spring game will feature a battle between the offense and defense. The offense can score six points on a touchdown, three points on a field goal, one point on a PAT, one point if the offense crosses the 50-yard line and one point for every first down. UM’s defense will score six points for any defensive touchdown, two points for a fumble, two points for an interception and one point for a three-and-out.
Fans will have the opportunity to purchase season tickets starting as low as $99. Season tickets are on sale now by either visiting www.hurricanesports.com or by calling 1-800-GO-CANES. Miami opens its home schedule on Sept. 17 when it hosts Georgia Tech.

The first summer football opportunity for fans will be the Summer BankUnited CanesFest scheduled for Saturday, July 25 at Dolphin Stadium. UM players will be on hand to sign autographs. UM players will also be featured in a dunk tank. Sebastian and the UM cheerleaders will also be on hand while fans will be treated to several inflatables in the fan zone.
