The tour was a joint effort of Morale Entertainment and Armed Forces Entertainment. Joining Coach Shannon on the trip were Mark Richt of Georgia, Tommy Tuberville from Auburn, Yale University’s Jack Siedlecki and Charlie Weis of Notre Dame.

The group gathered at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois before beginning their journey on May 20. The tour was a first-of-its-kind for NCAA football and for Armed Forces Entertainment. The NCAA coaches participated in meet and greets at various bases, as well as coached flag football teams made up of servicemen and women. Additionally, the head coaches hosted three symposiums, where the audience members ask questions.
