UM ANNOUNCES 2008 FOOTBALL TICKET PRICES
Nov. 5, 2007
Coral Gables, Fla (www.hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami announced today that ticket prices at Dolphin Stadium for the 2008 football season will range from $199 for upper end zone reserved seats (no Hurricane Club donation needed) to $775 for seats on the 50-yard line. The 50-yard line price includes the price of the ticket and required Hurricane Club donation. All donations to the Hurricane Club are tax deductible.
With the exception of the student section, all seats at Dolphin Stadium are reserved seats. Also, all seats are chairback unlike the Orange Bowl which offered limited chairback seating.
Included in a wide range of season ticket pricing options is the Family Plan that allows up to two adults and three children to be admitted for the price of $415 or $83 per seat. The Family Plan sections will be alcohol free.
Due to the decreased inventory of lower bowl seats at Dolphin Stadium versus the Orange Bowl-27,053 at Dolphin Stadium and 48,464 at the Orange Bowl, the former General Admission section and Family Plan seating areas will now be located in the upper bowl. However, both seating plans now feature reserved seating versus general admission. The alumni and student sections remain in the lower bowl.
“We are excited to be able to offer competitive pricing in our move to Dolphin Stadium, said UM Athletic Director Paul Dee. “In addition to the amenities that Dolphin Stadium offers fans, we have many affordable ticket plans available.”
With the move to Dolphin Stadium, the University of Miami will also be able to offer Club Seats for the first time. Priced at $900 to $1975 per seat, Club members will have access to the newly expanded and remodeled Club level along with weather protected seats and many other benefits.
Current Hurricanes season ticket holders will have the first option to select Club level seats at a select-a-seat event at the Stadium on November 17. A mailing will be sent out in the near future outlining this event. After the November 17 event, current Miami Dolphins Club level season ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase Club Level seats prior to their sale to the general public on December 3.
The reseating assignment process for current season ticket holders will begin in December and continue through January of 2008. Priority for reseating will be based on three criteria using the season ticket holders’ 2007 seat location:
Donors using Priority Points within Giving Levels Season Ticket Holders who are non-donors based on years of consecutive purchase New Season Ticket requests
In mid-February of 2008, season ticket holders will receive their new seating assignments along with invoices for their tickets. In mid-March, there will also be a relocation day event at Dolphin Stadium at which time season ticket holders in good standing will have the opportunity to add new seats or relocate their seats to any open location in the stadium.
Parking convenience will be greatly improved with the move to Dolphin Stadium. Approximately 14,000 spots will be available versus the 3,000 at the Orange Bowl.
At the Orange Bowl, a minimum donation to the Hurricane Club of $1,000 was necessary to obtain the option of purchasing parking. At Dolphin Stadium, no donation level will be needed. Season prices for parking will be $210 for preferred Club level parking and $150 for general parking. At the Orange Bowl, parking was priced at $245.
Non-refundable deposits, of $50 per seat or $200 per Club level seat, on new season tickets are currently being accepted at the UM Box Office at the Hecht Athletic Building on campus, via e-mail at canestix@miami.edu or by calling 1-800-GO-CANES.
