Eichkorn, Farah Eliminated In Quarterfinals In Midland

MIDLAND, Texas – Bianca Eichkorn and Romy Farah were eliminated in the quarterfinal round of first flight play at the 2007 Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational while Claudia Wasilewski won the second flight championship Saturday at The Racquet Club in Midland in the event’s second day of action.

TCU’s Nina Munch-Soegaard defeated Eichkorn 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 and UCLA’s Andrea Remynse beat Romy Farah, 6-0, 6-4 while Wasilewski defeated Pepperdine’s Tania Rice, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 to claim the championship of flight two.

In consolation action, Michaela Kissell defeated Zuzana Chmelarova of Baylor, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 while Caren Seenauth fell to Chmelarova’s teammate, Taylor Orman, 6-3, 6-2.

The `Canes will continue play Sunday at the Racquet Club in Midland as play concludes at the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational.
