HURRICANES HOLD FINAL PRACTICE OF THE WEEK INDOORS
Oct. 4, 2007
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – – Inclement weather forced the Miami Hurricanes football team to hold its final practice of the week inside the University of Miami’s Wellness Center Thursday afternoon. The Hurricanes face North Carolina Saturday at noon in Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill.
“We went full speed. No pads today, but guys flew around and executed what we needed to get done,” UM head coach Randy Shannon said. “We have a big gym over there, so it was pretty good for us. We were able to get everything done. There were no mental busts. It was good, because you can go into the gym, get distracted and guys can go half-speed, but they didn’t.”
The Hurricanes worked for about an hour using the second floor basketball courts in the Wellness Center. The team will hold a short walkthrough before leaving for Chapel Hill Friday afternoon.
Miami is making only its second trip to Kenan Stadium. In the first meeting in Chapel Hill, UM fell 31-28. The Hurricanes are 8-1 all-time against teams from Tobacco Road (Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest and NC State).
