Hurricanes Hold Final Practice Before Facing No. 16 Aggies

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami Hurricanes football team practiced for the third time this week in preparation for Thursday night’s game with No. 16 Texas A&M. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN and kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Orange Bowl.

UM head coach Randy Shannon said linebacker Darryl Sharpton and defensive tackles Dwayne Hendricks, Teraz McCray and Antonio Dixon are expected to play against the Aggies. All either missed or were limited in the last game.

Miami has a short week. UM defeated FIU 23-9 last Saturday in the Orange Bowl. The Hurricanes have had only three days to prepare for a Texas A&M offense that is averaging 444.7 total yards per game and 296.3 rushing yards per game.

“We have to keep things basic and work on the things that we’ve been doing,” Shannon said. “We have to make sure guys execute, because you can’t put in a lot of stuff because of (a lack of) preparation time.”

The Hurricanes will hold a walkthrough on Wednesday before departing for the team hotel in the evening.
