CAREER: Returning starter at defensive tackle…Stocky run defender who has played in 28 games with eight starts over three seasons…Has career totals of 56 tackles, five tackles for loss, eight QB pressures, 5.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries…Productive veteran started eight of 12 games played in 2006…Had a remarkable recovery from a spring 2005 ACL injury and played in five games in the second half of that season (he had suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in practice the day before the 2005 spring game)…Played in 11 games as a redshirt freshman in 2004 as a key reserve, often playing in short-yardage and goal-line defenses…Liberal arts major.

 

2006 (JUNIOR): Finished the season as one of two starting defensive tackles…Slowed early in the season after having his knee scoped…Played in 12 games, making eight starts…Finished with a career-best 25 tackles, including five tackles for loss, eight QB pressures, two sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery…Played as a reserve in the first two games, making one assisted tackle against Florida State and no tackles vs. FAMU…Moved into the starting lineup at Louisville, making two tackles (one solo) and a forced fumble…Started vs. Houston and made one tackle…Started and played most of the North Carolina game, having his most productive game of the year. 2005 (SOPHOMORE): Returned from ACL surgery in seven months and played in the final five games of the season…Registered 10 tackles (six solo), along with two tackles for loss, a 19-yard sack, one QB pressure and one fumble recovery…Suffered the injury the day before the spring game (April 8) and had a remarkable recovery…Sat out the first seven games, then played for the first time at Virginia Tech, making two tackles, one QB pressure and one fumble recovery…Played 43 snaps a week later at Wake Forest, making six tackles (three solo), with two tackles for loss and a 19-yard sack…Played as a reserve vs. Georgia Tech, making one solo tackle…Made one tackle against Virginia…Played as a reserve in the Peach Bowl vs. Louisiana State (no tackles).
