Moten Named Nominee for Allstate AFCA Good Works Team

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami defensive lineman Ahmad Moten Sr. was named a nominee for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association announced Monday.

Moten is one of 162 student-athletes nominated for the honor, which recognizes college football players who demonstrate a commitment to community service, academic achievement and leadership.

During the fall semester, Moten completed 65 hours of community service with the Branches After School program. Branches is a Miami nonprofit that partners with families to build educational and financial assets, strengthen communities and foster hope.

A Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native, Moten is entering his fifth season with the Hurricanes. The redshirt senior earned All-ACC Second Team recognition in 2025 after starting 14 games and totaling 31 tackles, nine tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.

Established in 1992 and presented by Allstate since 2008, the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team honors student-athletes who use their platforms to strengthen their communities and support causes important to them.

One student-athlete will be selected as team captain and receive the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, which recognizes exemplary community service, leadership and achievement on and off the field.

The Hurricanes open the 2026 season Sept. 4 against Stanford at Stanford Stadium. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. ET, with live coverage on ESPN.
