Miami Continues Preparations For North Carolina Game
Oct. 5, 2006
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Hurricanes went through their usual Thursday practice routine, focusing on special teams in an afternoon workout at the Greentree Practice Fields. But head coach Larry Coker also noted that his team may be turning the corner on what has been a season short of expectations thus far.
“I think we’re starting to come around and move in the right direction,” Coker said. “I’ve been really encouraged. We just need a great day of preparation tomorrow and play great on Saturday.”
It should be no surprise that the Hurricanes are looking their best at this point in the season. Coker has coached the team to a 16-1 record in the month of October since taking over in 2001. The .944 winning percentage in October is only surpassed by Coker’s perfect record in August (two games). Miami’s only loss under Coker in the month of October was against North Carolina in 2004.
Miami will conduct a walk-through Friday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Fields.
