Vote for the Hurricanes as Your Favorite Team of the Week

Coral Gables, Fla (www.hurricanesports.com) — – To celebrate the “delivery” of this season’s BCS National Championship game at the 2005 FedEx Orange Bowl, FedEx is running the FedEx Air & Ground College Football Teams of the Week campaign, and the Miami Hurricanes have been nominated as the College Football Team of the Week.

Fan voting has already begun on www.fedexorangebowl.com and will end at 5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday. The winners will be announced at 5:00 p.m. Thursday on www.fedexorangebowl.com.

In last Saturday’s 52-7 victory over Wake Forest, the Hurricanes rolled up season highs of 579 total yards and 424 yards passing. Quarterback Brock Berlin passed for 361 yards and four touchdowns.

Each week, fans are encouraged to go to www.fedexorangebowl.com to vote for that week’s top “air” and “ground” team performances named the FedEx Express and FedEx Ground teams of the week. Additionally, fans that vote have a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to the 2005 FedEx Orange Bowl in Miami. The winners will be announced each Thursday on fedexorangebowl.com.

In conjunction with the voting program, FedEx will make a donation of $25,000 to the general scholarship fund of the two teams that are voted as the FedEx Air & Ground College Football Teams of the Year. Each weekly FedEx Express and FedEx Ground team of the week is automatically eligible for the team of the year award. The winning teams will also be announced during halftime of the FedEx Orange Bowl telecast on ABC.w
