Physical Play Dominates Tuesday Practice

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami football team went through a physical practice at the Greentree Practice Fields on Tuesday afternoon, as the Hurricanes look to rebound from their first loss of the season against Clemson Saturday at 7:45 p.m. on ESPN.

“We made some strides today,” head coach Larry Coker said. “The offensive and defensive scout teams did a great job today – they really stepped and made us better. That is exactly what we needed. It was a very physical day today and the guys responded pretty well. If we continue to do that, we will have a chance to improve and win on Saturday.”

Miami tight end Greg Olsen was in a cast on Tuesday after injuring his wrist last Saturday night at North Carolina. The redshirt freshman practiced and is expected to play on Saturday. “He is going to have X-rays tomorrow to see where he is with his wrist,” Coker said. “He came down on it in the game, but I think he will be fine to play. We are just going to have to see to what he is going to have to wear on it to play.”

Wide receiver Ryan Moore returned to practice and looked good coming off of a foot injury that has kept him out of the past four games. Coker called Moore “probable” for Saturday’s game with Clemson. Backup quarterback Kyle Wright is listed as doubtful heading into this weekend.

The Hurricanes return to practice on Wednesday for a 3:30 workout at the Greentree Practice Fields.
