Hurricanes Wrap Up Off-Week Practice Schedule

Oct. 8, 2004

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami’s fourth-ranked football team wrapped up its off-week practice schedule on Friday afternoon with a two-hour workout in shells on the Greentree Practice Fields in preparation for Thursday’s 7:30 showdown with Louisville on ESPN.

“Today was like one of our Wednesday practices on game week,” Miami Head Coach Larry Coker said. “We practiced in shells, and we got some good work in today. The guys really ran around well.”

The Hurricanes’ coach commented on the schedule that will not see his team play back-to-back Saturday games until the ninth week of the season.

“I’m really excited to see our team play,” Coker said. “It has been such an erratic, crazy schedule we will be glad to get back into game week mode next week.”

Miami will begin their normal game-week practice schedule on Sunday. The Hurricanes and Cardinals are slated for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on ESPN on Thursday, Oct. 14.
